KFU-MI Board of Directors
Mary Taylor
President, Kids First Uganda-MI
Mary, founder and director of KFU-Michigan, first became involved when her daughter adopted a baby in Kampala. When in Uganda for adoption, she was appalled by the poverty, lack of education, and opportunities for financial security for women living in the slums of Bbunga. She returned to Michigan to organize Kids First Uganda-Michigan to complement existing work already being done in Uganda. KFU-MI is a 501(c)3 organization. Retiring from her professional life at a medical center, she has served on several boards of directors.

Joshua Kizito
Executive Director, Kids First Uganda-Africa
Josh received his bachelor's degree in 2011 from Kyambogo University, achieving a degree in adult and community operations. He was raised by a single uneducated mother, which he believes has helped him to have a deeper understanding of the struggles of the women and children he passionately serves. He coordinates the work of Kids First in Uganda, in partnership with Kids First Michigan. He strives to empower the women of KFU to create opportunities for themselves and their children, seeing themselves as an invaluable resource, rather than expecting handouts. Joshua is married and he and his wife Mary have two sons and a daughter.
